Serenity Dance offers a variety of classic and popular dance genres for students to choose from! For more information on these classes, or for assistance choosing a class for your child, please contact the studio by calling (206) 156-2849 or by email.
Ballet
Ages 9 and up
Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. Its meticulous attention to technical detail makes it for any serious dancer. This class consists of barre and center work concentrating on proper technique and body alignment. Ballet terminology is taught.
Pre-Pointe
Ages 11 and up
Pre-Pointe is the first step towards moving forward to Pointe work for a young dancer. Students must be a minimum of 11 years old and have 3 years of Ballet training. Students will be evaluated for readiness based on their technique, strength, and proper body alignment prior to signing up for the class. Pre-Pointe is a technique class only and will not perform in the recital. Pre-Pointe is also done in Ballet slippers for the entire year. We may recommend a student take Pre-Pointe several years before moving on to Pointe.
Pointe
Ages 12 and up
To be eligible for pointe work, a student must have strong ballet technique, correct body placement, proper physical qualifications, strength, and a self disciplined attitude. Pointe is a technique class only and will not perform in the recital. Students will be evaluated for readiness based on their technique, strength, and proper body alignment prior to signing up for the class.
Prerequisites: A personal and instructor evaluation, Two (2) Ballet classes per week, A doctors note with a pre-authorization.
Intro to Combo
Ages 4-5
Intro of Combo teaches the basic fundamentals of tap and pre-ballet. The two subjects are introduced and taught to keep the students interest diverse. Intro to Combo will perform one (1) routine in the recital. The director and instructor will select which subject.
