ANDRES FREAY
I have been artistically driven from a very young age. This foundation then evolved into an interest forgraphic design. It is fascinating that graphic design requires the substance of true vision which, paired with using digital resources, can be transformed into anything imaginable.

When I was a child, my mother used to constantly draw for me, which influenced me to pick up my own pen and paper. I did not think about going digital until I received my first computer when I was a teenager. I then became obsessed with editing pictures, which turned out to be my introduction to the broader world of graphic design.

I have an immense drive to succeed at what I do. I did not have the exposure to a lot of resources that are necessary to achieve this until I got to the University of Tampa. This has pushed me even more to take advantage of the opportunity and I have strived to learn something from every single project that I do. All my life I have been detail oriented when it comes to creating something. Not to say that I’m a perfectionist, but I like to do things right. My experience at the University of Tampa and the guidance of a professor that I consider my mentor has therefore helped me realize that my style is that of the Swiss designers. I tend to be structured and always aim for cleanliness, which has shaped me as a graphic designer and I plan to utilize the knowledge I have gained for the rest of my career.

My art is influenced by functionality. To me, art should represent beauty and function, simultaneously. Therefore, I strive to make every piece of art perform as intended while remaining aesthetically pleasing. My goal is to allow my audience to appreciate the smallest details of my art, while at the same time realizing its overall effect and purpose.
