Induction into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences'
Hall of Fame
      In 1998, Shigeru Miyamoto was honored as the first person ever to be inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame. He is considered to be the greatest video game designer in the world, and is one of the most influential individuals in gaming today.
Life Time Achievement Award

           In 2007, Shigeru Miyamoto received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards. He was honored with this award "for a career that spans the creation of Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda to the company's recent revolutionary home consoles."
Time Magazine's Most Influencial People
In both 2007 and 2008, Shigeru Miyamoto was recognized by Time Magazine as one of the top 100 most influencial people in the world. He topped the list both years.

The Legend of Zelda
In 2011, Shigeru Miyamoto took the stage at the Spike Video Game Awards, where he accepted an award for The Legend of Zelda's induction into the Video Game Hall of Fame. Giving a short speech in English, he said that he and everyone else at Nintendo are humbled at the love and support for the Zelda series.
