Tagging Process
The tagging process
occurs over the
process of 3 distinct
steps which are key
to ensuing the sharks
safety and well being.
1. Preparation
Our team may assess the shark’s health
and collect data such as size, weight, and species.
2. Capture
Sharks are typically caught using fishing gear
such as rod and reel, longlines, or nets.
The process aims to minimize stress and injury.
3. Tagging
The shark is brought alongside the boat or onto a
platform. Researchers quickly attach the tag to the
shark’s dorsal fin or, in some cases, implant it
internally.
