Do you ever think about
There being darkness over
The ocean, while at the
Same time light?

Do you ever think that
No matter how still the
Air could be around you,
There are waves in the
Ocean so full of rage, they’d
Crush humanity outright?

There are so many things that
We don’t control, can’t
Control.

There are so many times in
Which we try to manipulate
Her natural push and pull.

But she remains uncaged.
Broken shackles and busted chains.

She remains untamed,
Waiting to inflict pleasure or pain.

Does her might scare you?
Does her unpredictable tendencies
Keep you unsettled?

When you are amidst the
Greatest of her creations do
You find yourself humbled?

Against her will we are
powerless.
Isn’t that comforting?

Against her will we are
powerless,
And it is in this idea that
I comfortably acquiesce.
