About
In 2003 the two founding members of the band met in college, and immediately connected over a shared love of bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, The Who and Black Sabbath. They played in various bands over the years until 2009 when they released their first EP together under the band name Davy’s Grey, titled No Cigar. After another few years of local shows and light touring Davy’s Grey broke up, and the remaining members went on to form Red Vox in 2014. A multi-genre rock band, that doesn’t really have a specific sound. But they definitely make music, that’s for sure.
Style/Inflluences
Red Vox draws heavy influence from early Pink Floyd, Radiohead, David Bowie, Tame Impala, and Queens of the Stone Age. With their wide variety of influences further adding to their lack of one specific sound. Red vox’s discography shares a few common elements though. The vast majority of the songs are heavy guitar driven rock songs. Usually with a bass in there too.
