Cody Ko is a former software engineer turned vinestar turned youtuber. He was born in Calgary to two software engineers, eventually going to Duke University and becoming one himself. He created the free mobile app I'd Cap That, which for 4 million downloads in a single week. This got him noticed by the company Fullscreen, where he worked until his career on the comedy app Vine took off. The app helped gain him a decent following as well as kickstart his online comedy career. Once Vine collapsed in 2017, he took to making commentary channels on youtube, where he now has 4.5 million subscribers.
Noel Miller is the more mysterious of the duo, opting not to share much of his personal or family information online. He was born in Canada and migrated to the United States to finish his graduation. Also a software engineer, he joined both Youtube and Vine in 2015, uploading comedy skits. Once Vine collapsed, he focused more on music, specicially his skills as a rapper. Allegedly, he was fired in 2017, which is when he started collaborating with Cody. He has two active youtube channels; one for commentary videos and one documenting his streams. He now streams weekly, reacting to tv shows and videos his fans send in.
What is TMG?
TMG or "Tiny Meat Gang" is an american musical comedy duo, with primary focus on the rap scene. Their music is parody based, taking aspects of the modern rap scene and flipping them on their head. In turn, TMG lyrics are often self depreciating or focused on the mundane. Although started as a joke, the production value and effort put into their music videos has elevated them to decent fame.
They started their first global tour in 2020 dubbed "The Tiny Meat Tour", a show featuring both comedy skits and live music performances.
Humble Beginnings
Their first song came from a video on Cody's channel called 'It's Everyday? No.' posted in 2017. The video is a reaction to a song by another youtuber, Jake Paul, and his song 'It's Everyday Bro'. The song Jake produced is shoddily made and one of the most disliked videos on the platform.
In the description, it states the song was made in a single day. To retaliate, Cody and Noel made 'Keep Ya Dick Fat', a purposfully shoddy song made in only 4 hours. This is the first use of the term 'Tiny Meat Gang' and references the growing trend of rich, young internet influencers making terrible rap videos.
